Mario the “robot” provides doctors and nurses with the necessary help for prescribing and administering the correct dosage of the indicated medicine at the right time and to the patient for whom it was prescribed. This prevents potential errors that may arise during the process.
Mario can store medication that requires refrigeration and connects with software controlled by doctors, nurses and the Pharmacy Service. Each patient is identified with a barcode recognised by Mario. When this barcode is scanned, the robot’s software (Sofia) shows the medication prescribed to the patient, with the exact times and doses. The robot releases the medication into the cart, so that it can be dispensed.
